Custom paint ordering time/schedule?

Asking this for myself and for future searchers since my search didn't yield an answer.

I have my order in for my custom Enzian blue M4. The word from BMW NA when I put in the order was "an additional 2 weeks of lead time".

So, the car is schedule for week 13. Does this mean the car will actually take around 3 weeks to build? BMW Genius had no idea.

How does the process for special paint work? My CA said they have to take the car out of the line to an entirely different plant for painting. is that true? Seems like they could just load the special paint into the sprayers as they do varying the colors between the stock colors of cars that are passing through.

Trying to plan a PCD. Delivery time following build is usually roughly a month? I assume it's similar to dropping your car off after your ED (RIP)?

I've got nothing to provide other than possibly stale information (at end). I'm really just commenting from nostalgias perspective, I'm really envious right now of all of you dancing-the-dance when it comes to finding/speccing/paying/coordinating special deliveries. I wouldn't say jealous, but envious for sure. It's such a fun process - though stressing at times no doubt - and adds to the allure of a new car purchase immensly. Enjoy the time, even though the waiting sucks balls, I know that for certain.

Anyway, maybe things have changed over the years (I know the smoke/mirrors of individual ordering is lessening by the year) but the way I'd have interpreted this 5-6 years ago would be:

You're scheduled for a week 13 build slot. You decide to go individual. They approve. It may shift to a week 16 build slot now. But - if you're too close to that gap already (we're in week 9 right now), it could be pushed further back as the week 13 is already coming up on sorting for JIT arrivals by now.

Have fun, happy planning - it's quite a shame they've killed off the Euro Delivery program for NA customers, but I am staying fingers crossed it makes a return post-covid, even if I'm not a likely buyer currently.

I decided to go individual before I was given my build week, so I'm hoping that stays steady.

The build time on mine took about 4-5 days longer IIRC than a standard range car. That's before the factory(ies) were updated to the new paint booths though from what I've heard since then.
