Trip/journey computer fuel consumption reset - automatic?

I'm confused with the OBC on my E93. According to the manual the fuel consumption figure is calculated from the last time the engine was started yet it seems to just carry on from the figure from the last time the car was used. Coming from a MKV Golf the computer would start from zero after the car had been switched off for two hours - to mimic this on the E93 I have to reset manually - Is this correct behaviour?

I then thought that the manual may have meant the Journey computer but this never seems to reset until I tell it to either.

There is no automatic reset - you have to do it yourself.

Mine has to be reset, if you leave it the computer gives an average since last reset. I reset mine after each refill to work out MPG as opposed to the computer MPG and find the computer quite accurate.
