Weird metallic noise over sharp road imperfections

My car has been making an occasional noise from the front when going over sharp dips/imperfections. The car makes no noise going over bumps at lower speeds, it only happens when I am surprised by sharper dips or potholes.

I can describe the noise as something like "shring". The noise has a metallic resonance to it, like if a heat shield of some sort was briefly hitting the road. The best analogy I can find is that it sounds like a sword fight in movies

My car is lowered on Ohlins R/T. We have had the shocks tested on a specialized machine, they make no noise.

Has anyone had something similar on their car and found a fix ?

I sometimes hear what sounds like a hose clip shuffling along a metal pipe. Far as I know that isn't happening, I hope!

I've generally noticed different noises since installing ps4s, think they just pick up more stuff and Chuck it against wheel arch liners!?

Mine does the same thing, and on stock suspension. I'd be curious to find out what it is.

Thanks for your reply. I don't think the wheel rubs against the liner, my understanding is that at maximum compression the car rides on the bumpstops but the wheels should not make contact. I may be wrong. The noise sounds too metallic to be this.

Thanks ! Interesting, I don't recall hearing this when on stock suspension, it was only after the Ohlins install.

See the other threads dotted around but what it was in my car was a bolt that was moving holding the shock to suspension housing. I think that's my garages description of the pinch bolt .

Any way bit of locking compound and it's totally gone. Exact same noise as described by OP.

I had a lot of issue with this godawful pinch bolt that was causing a creaking noise when turning the steering wheel while stationary. It is on super tight now with a lot of this copper paste. The creaking noise is long gone. The Schlinggg noise is still there but happens very infrequently.

Brake rotor shield, perhaps? They definitely have the sound you are describing, if loose.

Nope was not brake shield. As above in my case was the pinch bolt most likely though terminology used by the garage who fixed it was different.

I was replying to OP who said the sound was still present, but more infrequent.

It's unlikely the brake shield though? A lot of us having noise from suspension/pinch bolts instead.

Just going by what is commonly reported.
