Last night I decided that I was going to have the center console trim covered in leather, so this morning I pulled the front and rear console out. It was a fairly big job but now that I have everything out I'm thinking about having the two main plastic pieces overlayed in carbon fiber with the trim wrapped in leather. Just wondering if that will be too much carbon fiber. Opinions?

I just got back. I ended up just getting the silver trim covered in a high quality vinyl (looks just like the oem leather) for $61. I'm taking my silver dash trim and roll hoop covers tomorrow and getting that covered. O-cha , I was talking about the entire console unit, that houses the shifter and the rear storage compartment but decided that it might look too busy.

Roll hoop covers are 1 time use only. Once you take them out, you'll have to replace them with new ones.

You're set then. Please post pictures afterwards. I'm very interested in doing the same mod as well.

btw, did not cover the roll hoop covers (worried about the top scuffing the covers when the top is raised and lowered) but they are being dyed so I will keep everyone updated as to how they hold up

i removed my trim pieces too not too long ago. my car came with wood and thought it clashed against the silver door handles so i replaced oem wood with oem brushed alum. the front console isn't too bad, it's the center one that's a biatch b/c you have to take off the rear compartment. was well worth it though...
