HK-Amplifier Issue
Hello,
First post here glad I found a good place to ask questions and get help hopefully. I have a Silver 2014 BMW 428i M-Sport Package. 50223 miles I have the Harmon Kardon stereo system in the car. The amplifier is dead. I am an IT person but not a car person I found where the Amp is located in the trunk. Has anyone changed one of these out if so is there instruction or videos you followed to do it? Do I have to get another one just like this or can I go to bestbuy and get one if so how do I find out what model to get that is compatible ? Thank so much in advance for your help. Ethan |

JVac, I took the car into the repair shop to get oil changed and told them about the loud popping and cracking sound in the speakers high and low. Even did it when I turned the car off 15 mins later I would go back out there and it was doing it.
He looked in the trunk and say I had spilt some cleaning liquid on the area the amplifier was located. If I find one that is refurbished and a cheaper price then $1500 could I just replace it myself? Thanks again |

https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=25603963. It may have some useful information for you, but again, I don't know enough to be sure. Maybe phone the guys listed in the thread and get some quality advice, or keep searching the forums for a proper answer. There's so much information to be found here.

You sure it was cleaning fluid? I know some of these cars had issues with water not draining.
If you get a replacement amp, it should hopefully be plug and play. On the coupe or sedan it should be a 5 min process to get to the amp. On the convertible it took me much longer. |
