Monoballs and Arms for Caster Adjustment

There are two main ways to adjust caster on modern BMWs, eccentric monoballs and adjustable tension strut arms. For eccentric monoballs SPL, KMAC, and Carbahn make them, but for tension strut arms I've only seen SPL. We'll take a look at the offerings from SPL and how they compare.

Great comparsion. Thanks Farkle!

I purchased the non-adjustable press-in bushing but was second-guessing whether I should have went with the adjustable. Overall, not really any info out there of people adjusting caster that I've found so I decided on the non-adjustable. Might experiment at a later date.

In your "Unique Parts of the M2 CS Racing' video you mention how quickly monoballs wear on race cars. That would appear to suggest they are a Bad Idea on road cars?

That was specific to the BMW Motorsport arms since they're exclusively designed for just that use case. I believe parts designed with street use in mind will hold up much better.

Yup - unsealed m'balls will be very vulnerable on road cars moreso for those used in DD duties in 💩 weather and 💩 road surfaces….

FWIW choices of sealed monoballs are limited TBH - running Bimmerworld tension struts bearings on my OGm2 with oem std sealed m'balls - no issue even here in UK !!!
