aftermarket wheels on an X3

Hey everyone -

I was contemplating getting a summer set of aftermarket wheels for my x3. Maybe 19's. Does anyone have experience or can shed some light on this issue?

My x3 has the Tire Pressure Monitoring system on it, will aftermarket wheels effect this? And if so, will I have to spring for the extra TPS valves, etc.??

Thanks,

i would check with your warranty first. BMW may have an issue using non-OE sizes on their vehicles.

what wheels are you looking at? be careful going to tall in the wheel/tire combo, as it'll make the X3 look too tall, and kill the looks.

everything bigger than 17 with sport package and rft is horrible! that is reason why i sold mine x3 and order new x6 with adaptive drive! difference is huge!

My standard X3 sport has 19" rims and has a ride harder than a skate board.
If you fancy a change, try going down to 17s and increasing the side wall height.
Make sure you maintain the original overall diameter and you will be fine. However, as already mentioned, if you are under warranty then I would not fit anything other than genuine BM rims. The non-sport 17s would be ideal.

I recently installed 162 style e90 rims on mine. Going from 17 to 18 is noticeable degrade in ride quality. I would not go with 19s, but stick with 18s. Mine has non sport suspension..
