Comparisons vs non manuals
All these comparisons are interesting and all but the reason I'm getting my M3 is that it comes in a sedan with a manual. Nothing can compare these days. I looked and I think maybe a Toyota Corolla can be had with a manual. So, if you want a fast (not the fastest) sedan with a manual, look nowhere else. And I am coming from a 6MT ZL1 just got tired of the impracticality.

The next step on from this car is a big one - 992 GT3 for 2.5x the price. That's essentially the end of the road, unless you want to step back in time 10-15 years (Carrera GT, Ford GT, Murcielago, etc).
Enjoy it while it lasts. |

That's about it. The rest of the cars with both a manual and a good measure of practicality are relatively down-market, though a few are still performance cars to at least some extent. Cadillac, Civic Type-R, WRX/STI, Golf R, Veloster N (I suppose...). Can't think of very many others.
