Floating center cap size?

What size floating center caps do I need for 668M wheels?

I bought a set at dealer - they gave me 112mm. They seem to not fit - as if the caps are too big and won't fit in all the way. It is jammed in the hub and center cap won't even spin.

Maybe not pushing them in far enough ? They feel like if I push harder to mash them in tbeylll break

Is there another size I need ?

So I took them back to BMW and the only other size they had in stock was noticeably larger and look like it would fit my ex five wheels no way they would fit my M550.

Does anyone have a floating center caps on 668M wheels?

After I returned the originals that I got which were at 112 mm I looked at 120 mm set and they're significantly larger which makes sense since it's a bigger size…. Since the ones that I had were too big the 120 mm ones were obviously way too big they look like they would fit my X5….

So they got me thinking maybe the original set that I had word fit and I'm installing them incorrectly??? I'm not a mechanic but I've done plenty of do it yourself automotive jobs I can't imagine I couldn't figure out a freaking center cap… The 112 mm center cap would just barely squeeze into the hub but it was so tight that the tabs were compressing the spinning mechanism and as a result it didn't spin.

Is there some quirk that our wheels do not accept the floating center caps??

As CHECKERED stated, 56mm is the size for G30 application, part number: 36-12-2-455-268.

What I found is that the 668M wheels have a lip on the inner hub causing it to squeeze the clips which then are squeezing the counter weight. This making it not spin.

Well at least I'm not crazy and they don't fit … I'll just get the bigger ones and I'll put them on my wife's X5….

I'll have to find something else to spend money on my car trust me I'll find it… spacers lowering springs a tune… 🤦*♂️

Hah I thought i was losing my mind originally too:

https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=27158114

I was too lazy to send them back and order normal non floating ones. 8 months later one of them popped off somewhere. No clue where. Kind of junk they don't work.

I posted this yesterday. Shame on me for not searching first. Mixed experiences on whether they work on 668's or not.
