Hi first post
I retrofitted a OEM wireless charger yesterday on my G30 but it came without a power cable. The eBay seller can't tell me how to power it either. Has anyone done this mod with an OEM part and can tell me the power cable I need to actually make it work on a g30 that didn't come with factory wireless charging? Also I see there's a cut off purple cable which I assume is the link to tell you the phone is still on charge etx. Would be keen to get that working too if anyone has the cable id and any instructions? Thanks Last edited by Guv_80; 09-12-2021 at 09:20 AM.. |

I'm also interested in this. Looking to get the entire kit. From what I've read so far the forgot phone function will not work on retrofitted chargers....
Looking forward to hear what others say. |

Anyone got any ideas? It looks like the sort of extension cable that a pc fan has might work as that's what powers the usb charger? Definitely don't want to go messing with it without some official guidance.
If anyone has the centre console open could you photograph the connection into the bottom of the wireless charger? Thanks |

OEM Wireless Charger Connector sourcing
I know this is an older thread but posting to help anyone who finds it and needs it. The mating connector for the 6 pin on the bottom of the charger is BMW PN 6909052 and I believe the pins are 61131383776.
A used connector can be found on e-bay pretty easily. It has been used in BMW's for over 20 years so you just have to find a part that uses all six pins and has a wiring pig tail on it. I bought one from a 2008 5 series for the gear selector pig tail. The lumbar switch also uses the same connector. From my research the pinout on the WCA side is: 1 - +12V 3 - K-CAN7 High 4 - K-CAN7 Low 6 - Ground When looking at the connector head on with the writing facing up, I believe pin 1 is on the right. I'll correct this if I connect it up to my car and blow fuses LOL. On the gear selector switch I purchased, pins 3 and 4 are twisted so it's perfect for running CAN protocol over. Now if I could only figure out which pins on the PDC I need to connect to and if PN 61131383776 is the correct terminal pin for the BDC connector. Hope this help anyone else trying to add the OEM wireless charger to a car that had the non-NFC and non charger tray in their G30. Last edited by dan.rowland73; 05-15-2025 at 03:26 PM.. |

Okay so I completed this job last night and now have a full retro-fit WCA in the center stack on my G30 including the charging status on the display and mobile in tray reminder. It wasn't bad at all. The bulk of time was spent trying to track down K_CAN7 wires in the center console but I ultimately just ran the wiring over to the BDC.
As my previous posts stated, I used the gear selector connector from the 2008 car and tapped into the wiring on the molex that connects into the cigarette lighter on the cup holders for 12v and ground. I then repurposed an old CAT5 cable to ensure the CAN bus signals stayed twisted to reduce the noise on them. I connected those to pins 3 & 4 on the connector plugging into the WCA. I then ran that CAT5 ethernet cable out of the center stack, around the footwell of the passenger side and then tapped into K_CAN7 on pins 39 and 40 of connector 8 on the BDC. I then searched bimmercode for BDC -> Expert Mode -> WCA_Enable and the HU -> Expert Mode -> WCA and set both to aktiv. Hope this helps anyone else trying to do this. I do not have the digital key so I cannot help with that. |
