Official Toronto M3 Spotters Thread

Now that I am finally spotting a couple other M3s on the road every week I thought I'd start a thread for when we see each other. Hopefully we can grow the group for our next meet / cruise.

Yesterday (Wed. 12th) I saw flyinggonzo's IB E90 on Bay NB at King. The 1st M3 I have seen with the "baby on board" sign

On Tuesday morning I saw a SG E92 at the Starbucks drive-through and Dundas and 8th line in Oakville. Must have been brand new as the plate started "BE.." Don't think he saw me behind him until he pulled out though.

Some time towards the end of last week, I was running some errands at the Six Points Plaza at Kipling and Dundas St. W, and when I came out to my car outside BMO, there was a SG E93 parked right behind me.

Wonder if that's anyone here.

Revmm,

I was in the SG E92 at the Starbucks. I almost spilled my coffee when saw you as I was pulling out. I've been looking for other M3's in Oakville/Mississauga and you're the first I've seen. It was nice to see.

Glad to hear from you. I couple of M3 owners have met throughout the summmer and fall (I have done some albums on my profile) and hopefully you can join us for our next meet / cruise. I picked mine up June 18th from Budds (I saw your Budds plates) - it looks brand new.

The SG is a great colour on the E92. With in being discontinued in 09 you will have a rare one. What colour is your interior/trim? Hope you are enjoying the car and I will see you around!

Thanks. I'm loving the M3. It makes a morning commute a lot more enjoyable. I'd definitely be interested in an M3 meet in future. Perhaps even a track day? I picked up mine from Budds Sept 30. The interior is fox red. I'm looking forward to seeing some more M3s!

Just spotted another M3 this afternoon (Sunday) - a black E93 (I think it was Jerez but not 100% sure) travelling NB on Dorval just pass Glen Abbey in Oakville around 2pm. I was SB in our X5 so didn't get a good look. Perhaps another Oakville member?

Congrats. I love the SG, and it will be rare now that it is discontinued on the M3. Looking forward to seeing you around town.

Thanks! Originally planed on getting an E92 or E93 next spring, happened to be in the dealership saw the SG with the 18" wheel and bought it on the spot! Love your car by the way - exactly how I would have ordered it!

Okay, so I haven't seen another M3 on the roads for almost a month. I must be the only one crazy enough to drive mine in this weater - either that or ours are all so dirty that I do not recognize them in camouflage mode.

Anyways, I did spot something a little unusual today. Heading NB on Trafalgar Road in Oakville, just over the QEW and this blue Hyundai pulls up beside me with his window down. The driver gives me the hand up to the ear motion like he wants to hear the engine. Anyways, even though we were barely moving in rush-hour traffic, I obliged and revved it a little as we were moving on. He gave me a smile and a thumbs up and continued on his way.

It wasn't until I caught up to him at the next light that I noticed his license plate had the chrome cover with the M logo on it. Anyways, not my taste but good to know that there are some M fans who are working on getting theirs still. He turned in around Sheridan campus and it reminded me that I drove a 1985 oldsmobile cutlass supreme (4 door) when I was going to University (long story), and I worked my ass off to get my first bimmer.

Anyways, hope everyone is surviving the snow so far and keeping it away from the salt trucks.

You guys in Toronto might see mine on the roads soon enough, my winter tires are at the shop ready to install and my pickup is tentatively scheduled for next week Wednesday. Can't wait... I think I've read every thread on this board in anticipation.

Nice, will keep an eye out for your crew... what area do you guys live in? I'm in Leslieville, literally 1 minute from the BMW Toronto dealership.

Also what are you guys running for winters? I'm putting Hankooks on my stock 18s and hopefully picking up a set of 19s/tires in the spring.

You know it! I ended up going with the same sizes as you based on your advice. Speaking of which, do you have any pics of your rear wheel with the winter tire? Just wondering how the 35 series on the back is compared to the stock 40 series... hopefully not a huge difference as I don't want to get the rim bashed up too badly if the winter is rough.

Good choice, you will love them!
As for the rear wheel , its not too far off, I actually think it looks better!
the stock ps2s have wayyyy too much side profile rubber!

We are all in the north end of Toronto. We are all running the W300's on replica wheels...245/40/18 rear and 235/40/18 front. We were going to go 235/40/18 all around, but then realized that the front and rear offsets are staggared anyway, so its not like we could just rotate, and the 245 looks better on the rear then a 235. The ground clearence is what is going to get you stuck anyway with the w300 (not the performance of the tire)...a tiny bit of staggared will not matter. So far so good .

Nice, assume you're happy with the Hankooks so far?

I've been running staggered winters on my 325i (225 front, 255 rear)for the past 3 years and it has been fine aside from getting stuck once in the alley behind my house last year. I chalked that up to the deep iced over tire tracks and not the performance of the winters though. Hopefully the 235/265 setup on my M3 will do the same... fingers crossed we get less snow this year than last!

$1200 tax in/installed... happy with the deal, I could have done a little bit better if I had ordered online but there are less headaches going this route.
