G80 vs F80 vs E90

Hi guys

I recently got a few friends together to compare the differences between the 3 most recent M3 generations.

https://machineswithsouls.com/2021/1...s-the-best-m3/

It's that S65 that makes the difference…

I read and enjoyed very much yesterday evening! An immediate family member of mine picked up a stripper E90 6MT and your comparison/breakdown is spot!

Thanks for putting this together.

An excellent choice!

If I get back into one, I'm going for a stripper E90.

Ive owned all three--- the best way for my mind to compare is to go back to the point in time since so much in regards to technology, builds, chassis, parts, etc are improved.

My E92 wins with the G80 coming in a tight 2nd.... To MWS' point, its all about the SixFive

My E92 and F82

Like Vic, I've owned all 3. And I can't argue with the order. Hec, I loved my E93 so much, I still have it...and plan to keep it forever. Sold the F82 after a year for all the reasons you shared in your thread, and because I could never warm up to the sound of the engine at anything below 9/10. But she sure was pretty. Hec, it was so pretty, I ordered the exact same spec for my G82.

For me, my E93 and G82 are damn near equal, can't put one ahead of the other. For an analog thrill, my E93 checks all the boxes, complete with my full Akra exhaust. My E93 is simply a mood changer if there ever was one. It's a natural high when you put the top down and let that S65 sing up to 8000+ RPM, with its wonderful octaves up and down the register (deep rumbly notes down low, with a mid-octave in the middle, to a full on wail once you crest 7000 RPM). The S65 is truly a musical instrument. And mine has just enough tech so that I don't feel like I'm driving something from the distant past (I have a loaded 2013 model with Individual Audio, which sounds better than my G82 Harmon Kardon, go figure).

But the G82 is so damn fast, capable and has so much of the latest tech...and quite comfy and efficient too. With all of that, I can't place it behind the love of my E93, because the G82 definitely has its own charm. I love them both, obviously for different reasons.

Here was my F82, at the Tail.

And I just ordered my G82 Tail Pix, as I was there last weekend with 120+ Porsches. I'll post a G82 Tail pic too when it arrives.

Like a few others, I have owned all gens since the E46 M3. The e92 was likely my favorite, and have to say, I think the G80 is right there at number 2. 3 was the e46 and the f8x is my least favorite.

Thats cause I have had so many M's that these fucking chassis numbers get me all confused LOL

It should read E92... I did have an F90 though if that makes anyone feel better hahaha

Between the engines and the cars half the time I think of my 63 Benz vs the engine (S63) and the S65 is a 12 cyl Benz as well but here its a brilliant motor.
