Are my tails lit up properly at night?
When I got my F25 it had the dreaded brake light led problem. Got it all fixed up and have been driving for well over a year now with everything working however I've always wondered if my tails were lit up properly when the lights are on.
Everything works as they should when signaling/braking and no error codes either. Could it be a coding issue or a bulb issue? Or maybe this is how they're supposed to be? Thanks |

This is a common failure, I'm assuming just being both outers is a coincident. A component on the LED driver board comes loose due to heat. You can re-solder it or replace the driver board. I've soldered 2 of mine, 1 left inner and 1 right outer, a few years ago. No errors on the dash because the computer has bulb checking turned off since they're LEDs.

Update:
Fixed the driver side with a spare LDD500 that I bought a while back, and needed a new bulb carrier for the passenger side as it was quite corroded and I would sometimes get brake lamp out codes and would need to fiddle with the bulb to get it working. All in all it was easy to fix and only costed me another $48 for the bulb carrier. Next up, I took advantage of FCP's Black Friday sale and bought all 4 corners shocks with h&r springs. Putting them together shortly and gonna install them one weekend. |
