Going from 19s to 16s, Expectations?

I have an 07 e92 335i. FBO and MHD tuned. On eibach lowering springs and stock bilsteins all around, running Achilles tires 245/45/19 x8 fronts & 275/40/19 x9 in rears. The rear quarters are slightly rolled and the car does not rub sits great. For performance however, if I went down to let's say 16 inch stock 3 series rims with the appropriate sized tire, what can I expect in ride quality, road performance and driveability? I've included pictures of my current set up and the typical 16s I would use.

Less crashing through potholes, cheaper tires, won't stick like glue in corners Prpbably better gas mileage as they weigh less and have a smaller contact spot for acceleration but adversely you will be spinning them more.

335 brakes can fit (some) 17" size wheels as the smallest.

But ya you will get a more comfortable ride because more sidewall; but you will also get more numbness in the steering feel and handling because again more sidewall flex (this is assuming its the same tire width for grip)

Thanks for both of your input makes perfect sense as the stock wheels that originally came with this car when I got it were 17s.
