Extended Warranty Q

Newbie here with a question. Does anyone know how much (approximatelly) warranties are thru the dealership or even aftermarket ones. i am in the market for a 2005 m3 but will only get one if i can get a reasonable warranty.repairs scare me to death.
also, if buying used, does a car with 35k miles have a warranty until 50k no matter what?
