Missing Any Storage "Do's" and "Don't"??

I'm parking my M for the winter and so far I've inflated my tires to 50psi, filled up my tank to full, released the e-brake and put blocks at tires, closed all my vents in the car, plugged in my BMW trickler, washed the car, conditioned my leather one last time, and just waiting on my car cover that I ordered from e-bay. I talked to the service guys and they said I do not need to add a stabilizer to the gas. I just got my break-in servicing done also and my garage is not heated. Outside temperatures sometimes reach from 5 degrees to -20 degrees. I will be parking the car from now till End of March. Am I missing anything?????

if you have rodents in your garage, wrap some plastic over your tail pipes and put masking tape to seal it... and have some mouse traps ready around the car.

Why would you fill up your tank full? That just means if you let it sit long enough a lot of gas will go bad. You want to have less than a quarter tank, preferably just enough to get you to a gas station next time you take it out, and you do want to add stabil to it.

I've had my car garaged since mid-December. I had my pops warm the car up for a few minutes and he said the dash lights were very dim when he got in, but it started just fine.

I didn't add air to the tires or do anything else as suggested above - just washed and parked. It will likely sit in the garage till March or so.

Will I have any problems if I have someone start it every few weeks until I return? My dad would be reluctant to even drive it around the block, so I'm just concerned whether a bi-monthly warm-up would be sufficient.

If your tank is full... you will produce less condensation in the tank... Stabil will also eat certain forms of rubber hoses. Most Octane boosters have a fuel stabilizer in them... We have been winterizing high performance boats for years... we fill the tanks and use an octane booster... never had a problem

+1 Always store any kind of vehicle with a full tank.
