Boot space?

Do any of you know if a golf bag with the driver/3 wood removed will fit?

I had NO inclination of a roadster until I saw some of these pics. N54-dart handling-GOOD looking hardtop break lines-nice interior.....

There is a pass through option that will permit two bags with drivers,

On my Z4M a full size bag fits, but the long sticks had to be pulled from the bag.

Thanks.

Pulled and laid beside/on top of the bag?

I did not see the pass through option...but then again the car just got my attention last night.

Best looking BMW in years. IMO. Sorry for the ? but when, about, are these hitting the ground?

Yummy!

Gonzo,
It is a pretty awesome looking model. The release date I saw was early May as mentioned above. Take a look at the official press release, they mention 1 bag in the trunk or 2 if you use the pass through option.

To me the biggest issue will be just how much space there is with top down.
We like to hit the road on weekenders etc.
I'd hate to have to travel top up to get enough space.

One feature I really like is the ability to get access to the boot with top down.
With the CA option it will go to an intermediate position when the boot is opened.

I see your Mcoupe is gone. Will you be in the market for one of these new Z4's?

Agreed, that is what I need to see as well, because if I can fit two weekend bags with the top down, then I am likely to trade both my Z4M roady and my 07 328i because then I can use one car year round.

Thanks.
What is that lock down shelf thing?

Really this is the only BMW I would consider buying at this time. I love it.

It looks like those seats have suede like material on the side bolsters. Is this standard?

I found even E93's trunk was smaller than my z4. Convertible place holder is way too big.
But it seems like pass through space could utilize many things such as some golf clubs in loose bag.

That lock down shelf thing is there to prevent you from overloading the trunk and damaging the top mechanism when you put the top down. It's the same design as in my e93. That trunk is bigger, of course, but it does allow for a pretty decent sized suitcase and other stuff. You can buy luggage to fit the e93 trunk, and I bet before long there will be similar luggage for the new Z4. Does it cut down on cargo space? Yes it does - but then it saves you a very expensive repair bill if you should try to open the top with too much stuff in the trunk. Also - you cannot operate the top unless that "shelf thing" is in the closed position.

So I guess if you remove the shelf thing all together, the car just simply won't let you open the top? In that case provided that you need the cargo space, you can always just close the top, remove the shelf and have tons of space!? If that's the case that sounds really neat and the trunk capacity is not small at all!

The passthrough area however seems tight to fit 2 people's worth of snow sport gears tho... And of course, being a convertible you can't mount a roof rack or anything.... Not so much an 'all season roadster' if you can't hit the slope with it.... Maybe I'll just get a 1 series as my next car....
