CPO Ending - Asking the dealer to dig in?

My CPO is up on 1/2/23. I am brining it in next week for the passenger restraint malfunction thing and am asking them to go through the car diligently looking for warranty work.

Anyone have experience here with a dealer doing this? Will it fall on deaf ears?

Not sure if they will go through it like that without an inspection charge. However, you can take it to an indy, get them to inspect it at a lower cost and make a list of issues (if any) and take it to the dealer to get those fixed under warranty.

Thanks, my indie suggested to let him do this and I will take him up on that. I have three months. But I figured since I am making a trip to the dealer, then it's worth a shot. I definitely wasn't expecting to pay them to find warranty issues. They kind of do this on the lighter side every time in looking for revenue.

I was in the same boat earlier this year, not CPO, but regular 4/50K warranty. I said the same thing, but added, specifically:
- transmission acts weird
- check for proper engine performance
- suspension problems

They came back with "nothing found" except on the suspension, and they replaced the front struts (air suspension) under warranty for me. Generally, yes, they enjoy the work and getting paid by BMW, so there's nothing wrong with asking for and receiving a comprehensive inspection. So it should not fall on deaf ears.

I took my car into the dealer for a specific issue right before the warranty ended. Without prompting, my service advisor walked me through all of the common issues with the G30 m550 and proceeded to notate that I've experienced all symptoms into their system...needless to say some things were fixed and others found to be non-issues. It all depends on the SA...

What dealer did you go to? My 4/50k ends in 6 months. Thinking of taking my car to EP3 motorsports (St. Charles) and paying them to do a UCI. But, if I can have a SA do it I'd rather have them check it for free

You will have to tell them what to look for. For example "check for leaks", "check suspension"…
