Help - Trim Changing Color
Need some help here. As some of you know, I had and accident and I'm working through getting the repair done right. On the back there is a trim piece, shown by the red arrow below:
I bought the car used, but the piece on my car was blue, as are the matching trim pieces in the front. The body shop is telling me the part only comes in black and it looked blue on my car from UV fading. So, are they being straight with me? Is this true or should I expect the part to actually be blue? Last edited by leftoverture; 11-03-2022 at 11:45 AM.. |

If it is part 51127314357 (https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-2...uine-bmw-part/), there are not any other part numbers for any different colour, it is just available in black. If it is not coloured due to weathering, then a previous owner would have had to have it painted.

Found this older thread about the black trim turning purple or blue, I guess it's a thing. We bought our car used so it was just blue when we got it, so I thought that's the way it was supposed to be.
