Unhappy G30 Apple CarPlay just auddenly stopped working

...and I can't turn it back on.

So I do have iPhone 13 and everything was working just fine in terms of CarPlay connection and I've been using it big time until the day it stopped working without any user's action I could suspect that might have caused it.

Now pressing the settings wheel (the OK button) on the Apple CarPlay option does nothing - previously it was opening the apps view, or spotify or gmaps, whatever. Tried to disconnect phone and reconfigure it again but unfortunately with the same as previously result. The very last thing I can think of is the car settings factory reset but I want to know if there is anything else I could try before proceeding with it.

I do have the newest iOS (16.1.1) and car's software seems to be up to date as well (last update was from 03/2022 tho). I've been always connected through wifi/bluetooth, never through the cable if it could give any hint

I found BMW's sw to be buggy as hell. My wife has issues with Apple Carplay all the time. Randomly doesnt connect etc. She had to rest idrive all the time

I had that happen last week with ios 16.1 - i did the idrive reboot, and that did nothing.
it was as if the phone profile had vanished / got corrupted etc.
the phone stopped showing up in the manage mobile devices section.
the only fix was to disconnect from the car wifi, forget the car wifi, delete the car from carplay on the phone, and finally re-add the phone to idrive carplay.
that fixed everything. hopefully it works for you too

Well my gf just told me she hold volume knob for 30s which resulted in system reboot (not factory reset). After that she just reconfigured her phone and it works fine

Lol she is smarter than I thought Thanks for help guys

Iv had to do this 2/3 times now.

De-link apple CarPlay and relink together. It's Apple issue rather than BMW as missus does it on her Audi too.
