Nitto Invos on the track?

Hi all,

I've got a track day coming up and I plan on using my street tires rather than R-compounds the first time out with this car. I was wondering if anyone had experience with the Invos on the track and could comment on how they held up. For example, my personal experience is that the Mich PS2s do pretty well whereas the Toyo T1-Rs get greasy fast and fade badly.

Any comments?

Thx,
BC

I've used Bridgestone RE-01R tires, a non-R-comp high performance tire and probably similar to Invos.

You'll like them, they'll handle well, but the people on R's will go faster and as your tires heat up, they'll go a lot faster.

Thanks for the info! Actually I've done quite a few HPDE's on R-compounds in my E46 M3s and am pretty familar with their performance. I was interested learning about the Invos in a track environment. I know they will fade at some point, but the question is will I be able to have more than 3 or 4 laps before they lose their grip. Some street tires are better than others in this regard....

Thanks!
Barry
