For those of you who have this on your 540. Any idea what the 0-60 is?
Just curious how much of a difference it really makes. Thanks!

I had that in my 535 and it helped throttle response and did probably give 30or so hp. Solid buy for a 2 minute plug in. I actually just got a 2023 540i last week (Msport this Msport pro ect) and was going to just get this after I have a few hundred miles. I’d be interested in draggy results! But I can say easiest little power boost you can get.

It adds up to +4PSI, which is about 50-60 whp

The power increase is noticeable. Your 0-60 will heavily depend on your tires and skills.

whats it like compared to a stock m550i? not the 0-60 times, but just the feeling in general. if you have experience.

the M550 makes over 500 HP

the 540 with JB+ will be in the 400s, not as much power as the M550 but its a lighter car and the torque will hit a lot faster with the tune.

Its not easy to explain by text, just give it a try and if you do not like it, you can send it back

For a not much more dollars I would just go for a proper flash tune from MHD or BM3, I had a JB4 on my B58 engined car and it didn't like it at all. Inconsistent boost and would throw a few overboost control fault codes. But be careful, once you get a taste for more power and see the potential of the B58 it's a slippery slope! My 0-60 is down to 2.88😂

I would invest in a flash tune (BM3) if possible.

if the ECU is locked, get a complete tuner like the Jb4, it's the better investment vs. the JB+

Yep , best so far that was back in December, upgraded turbo etc and custom tune on e50 mix for best numbers to date.

if you tune the car and cause damage, your dealership won't fix it for free.

The odds of this happening are very close to zero per all the data we have and hundreds of thousands of tuned cars with no issues.

if you are worried about and want a 100% guarantee, then keep it stock

I realize this is an old thread, but thought it best to reply to this one. Because I have an LCI 540, and don't plan to install downpipes and other mods on the family car, so sending off for an unlock just to get some adjustable pops and burbles from a full tune doesnt seem as necessary. I realize im over-simplifying, but this JB+ seems right up my alley.

If someone doesnt intend to bother with ethanol mixes, doesnt have reliable access to 93 octane, isn't planning additional mods/downpipes/etc and thereby sending off for an unlock the JB+ seems like it is able to be set up through the 91 tune level of a JB4?

I don't have a problem buying something more capable if it's useable, but with the limited understanding I have, the JB+ seems like the perfect way to just get the most popular boost settings that a JB4 achieves.

Does a JB4 adjust anything more on engine parameters than a JB+ does?

on the lower level maps, you are only adjusting boost.

you will lose the JB4 safety failsafes and all the other add-ons, but if thats not a concern and you just want a few extra PSI, the Jb+ is an excellent option

yes, if needed, the Jb4 can adjust timing, but that's not the primary way it adds power.

if you are running the simple maps, the Jb4 is primary adding boost and leaving everything else to the DME

Just bought a jb+ from Mike, can update when I get mine installed. I personally went with the jb+ because I’m under warranty for two more years, ( my bmw rep) told me not to flash, I would of bought the full jb4 but didn’t wanna drop 500 right not as I have other projects that are more important and just wanted a cheap quick plug in tune for a bit more power. Will update thread with my experience and 0-60

I plan to utilize the return within a year and buy the full jb and get the credit for the jb+ I purchased 😎

Great to hear! Been on the fence about pulling the trigger.
