Error code help

I have a 06 E90. One of my OE angel light bulb burned out, so I went and bought a set of RD LED along with a set of license plate LED bulb. I got all in working perfectly except for the error codes. At start up, iDrive shows Left Parking Lamp Malfunction, Right Parking Lamp Malfunction, and Rear License Plate Lamp Malfunction.

I searched around this forum and found one possible solution, resetting the ECU. I pulled the negative off the battery in the trunk twice. Once for 30 min, next for an hour. Neither time worked (incredibly, only the clock was reset, all radio presets were still there).

Anyone has any ideas (other than the obvious one of buying all OE parts and replace)?

Problem is LED bulbs draw less current than halogen bulbs. Because of that, the car thinks the bulb is out and gives you the Bulb Out error message. Some cars do not get this error for some reason, mine and unfortunately yours, do. Only way around it is to install 'resistors' if you want to keep using the LED bulbs, or get some halogen bulbs.... Good luck

Well I understand that part about the less current used by LED. That is why I thought these products advertised has that problem solved with built in resistors or something. Odd certain cars does this while others doesn't.

Is there any affect on the electronics of the car besides seeing the malfunction warning?

Also where would you recommend I go to buy the resistors? Will they even fit in that hole? thanks
