Adaptive LED to Laser headlight G30 LCi

Hi everyone,

I have G30 2022 with adaptive LED headlight option. Unfortunately, right headlight is broken. The car is from USA but will be used in Europe.

Since i have to buy at least one headlight to replace the broked one i'm wondering what if to buy 2 Laser headlights and replace both? Could somebody advise is it plug & play + coding?

Yes it is. Need new Laser Headlights, even if you have modules the new version they are the the same for Adaptive led and laser.

Just coding is needed.

Thank you for the answer. So, just to confirm, I need to buy laser headlights without modules, get modules from my current Adaptive headlights and put on the new laser headlights. And coding.

What do you mean by modules the new version? Do you mean modules from LCI headlights?

The laser headlights have different modules from LED headlights. The laser lights come with the modules.
You just have to edit the fa, remove adaptive LED , add laser lights then code them.

So the Laser headlight modules differ from Adaptive? I was surprised when mrgicm wrote that modules are the same.

So, in total, i need to buy Laser headlights with modules, replace my Adaptive and code, correct?

Yes. I know when you buy they should come with the modules. just confirm first with seller. Make sure you are buying same LCI headlights. Pre lci wont work on LCI
After buying install them then modify the fa and code. Sometimes they might require flashing.

FA is the vehicle order.
Remove 552(Adaptive LED headlight) and add 5AZ(BMW Laserlight) in the salapa sectin in the fa. Then code the FLM2 modules and BDC.
Check out this thread for more info about coding. I code it for you remotely if you want.

modules are the same on both Adaptive LED Nd Laser Headlights on the G30 LCI.

Coding them will nkt be enough , you need to flash them to 2023 Istep.

Hello all !

Facing a problem with laser headlights.

Did a retrofit from Adaptive LED to Laser.

Not sure how to explain, the headlights have that small light on the side, which I think is also making the blue part glow.

In this case, the small side light on the left headlight is not on, whereas on the right headlight is working.

Can see in the pictures ( I hope they’re attached)

Has anyone had this problem ? How did you fix it?

Thanks for any answer!

Hi, sorry to bother.
Greetings from China. I just did the retrofit of upgrading the adaptive LED to laser for my G30 LCI, and it seems the angle of the laser isn't look quite... correct?

As you can see the left laser is as high as the low beam while the other one is even lower, and when tried to switch the FLM2 modules, the 2 lasers went consistent (both the lowest angle). Because this is a static testing, I then drive my car to the country roads as well as highways to test them, but it looks like the lights are still pointing down like a low beam:

(laser on)
It looks higher in the pic because my car was bumping.

even though the adaptive laser function works as shown below:

Anyone has an idea about this? Like is it normal? Or is it because of coding issues? (I know that the Chinese version of the laser are downgraded to 450m range but this is even weaker than high beams!
