New 330i Tips installed

fitted the new 330i tips. but they almost touch each other by just a mere 1 mm. is this normal for the 330i tip as well?

Would they slap each other when the car is running i.e. normal exhaust vibrations?

Looking good, my friend

Here's a pic of ksfrogman's 330i.

Looks pretty tight to me, seems to be normal.

i fitted mine last night as well, plus removed front license plate and am bondoing holes, plus chrome grills.

I was wondering why the left one goes in more than the right one, is this normal? i can't tell very well by the pic of ksfrogmans on here.

330's left ones are longer as a butterfly valve (I think thats what they call it) is accomodated on the right pipe...

That is due to regulations in Germany (at least here), the exhaust pipes may not protude over the back of the car (bumper).

That's why the left one goes in more, it follows the shape of the bumper, when looked at from above.

My tips dont seem that close at all. I have to look at them later, and maybe take a pic. I can fit a terry cloth between the tips to dry them.

The factory-fit tips on my 330d (same as 330i) are approx. 3mm apart.

my 330 tips are close too, not that close but close, the left one fits right up against the muffler, the right one doesnt but you cant even tell the right is shorter unless your under the car so dont worry about it, IMO the 330 tips are a much cleaner look than the 325 tips

perhaps the gap for 330i exhaust tips are a little wider than the 325i?

Those look great. Can wait to get mine. The 325 exhaust looks like crap without them.
