Hey all, have recently replaced my valve cover gasket and noticed that one of the grounds coming from the ignition wiring to the bolt on the valve cover is severely corroded and has snapped in half. It’s more than likely been this way for years and I’ve never known, my car has ran completely fine.

What is the possible implications of this ground being broken ??
Also what is the main use of this ground ?
Thanks
(I know the photo I linked is not mine)

They're coil grounds without them the car will run rough and misfire
If one has broken it will just use the other ground
The bolts are pretty soft so just hammer a flathead into it and spin in out.
