US - European model difference : Headlight

looks like there's been differences in US model and European one ... or 128 and 135 difference?

look at turn signal on the coner of headlights...just that?

does bmwusa's computer-generated image look better in
headlight...or is this real one...coming to US...

The amber turn signal is a US requirement.

It does make me wonder how nasty a US front license plate is gonna look, though. :frown:

Hopefully for the sports package there will be clear lens with amber bulbs. Uh, yeah!

Front license plates are required here in Texas but i've yet to have on installed on any of my cars and my 135i will not have one either. When I order it I will make sure my dealer does not install the bracket when my car arrives. As long as you request it they have no problem complying with your wishes.

 why can't they just give us a reflector that's easily modded like on the 335i! There goes another $500+ for a euro headlight mod right off the bat.

And yeah, I haven't had a license plate in the six years I've own my Coupe. Meter Maid's are b*tches but otherwise I've had zero issues. I've learned not to park at Meters anymore... worth the trade-off to me.

I'm in beautiful Joisey, so a no-front license plate option is not in the cards, realistically. I guess I'll have to warm up to the car looking buck-toothed.

Ive driven 30,000 miles in California without a front license plate (a requirement here) and have not gotten pulled over once. Even if I hand order a 135i, if it has a front license plate mounted, Im not buying it. They totally ruin the look of the car.

Oh man, I agree but we've been pulled over twice in the last 2 weeks and it really upset my wife...the whole process of pulling over, digging out your registration, insurance, license.
Anyway...front license plate mounted today out at the dealer and it just killed me.

bot- I dig the US/amber turn signals- the amber reflectors break up that fat expanse on the side of the headlight housing ...that little "swoosh" on the side is like a little yellow Nike logo.

I deal with the fix-it tickets, just to not have a front plate. The only problem, it is always probable cause to pull you over. Oh well!!

I know right, alot of people dont like em, but I think that they clean the lights up and make it look less bug-eyed.

Even if they are "orange"

If you can't get away with no front plate just zip-tie it to the front mesh.

Luckily, I have a Florida residence and they don't even issue a front plate!

LoL I just leave the dealer plate on the back and dont even put a plate on the front. As a matter of fact, I've had 6 cars in the past 6 years and the only vehicle to have a license plate on it was my A4. It had a matching numbers Euro plate on the front and I never had any problems with it until a over zealous traffic cop ticketed me for signaling for less than 200ft. or something. He also gave me a fix it ticket for the plate, so I duct taped the CA plate over it and got it signed off. The funny thing was that the CA plate was falling off the front of the car while the cop was signing it off!!

I laugh about it now......but hopefully my luck doesn't run out because its a bad idea not to run any plates at all.....I just hate all the cameras theyre putting up!!

From the front they probably assume the car is from a state that doesn't require front plates.
From the back they just assume you have a front plate.
