Unhappy 1 series needs a fog light

I am really pissed that BMW didn't put the fog light on the 1 series:iono:since it will really look nice. Hopefully the the US one gets one otherwise I am complaining to BMW:mad:

You want a fog because it "looks nice" ?
Sorry, JMO but that's hardly a reason for installing fogs.

+1

Per the US Press release. 128i will have fogs with the corner feature and the 135i will not have fogs at all.

Complain all you want, it will not solve anything.

Fog lights may be offered on the 135 eventually (although I doubt it), but they would have to be a completely different unit to fit on the M Sport kit. Plus, they'd have to be small enough so as not to interfere with the brake cooling ducts, so where would they put them?? :iono:

I've wondered about this because there clearly is a space on the outermost edge next to brake ducts on either side. You can see it's just blocked blocked off.
Maybe it'll be offered in the future....the 1-er's going to be a work in progress anyway as refinements are made. HID's aren't enough to lite up the side of the road.

The only reason I use my fogs is to give me more light along the lower sides of the road at night since I have halogens still (didnt figure it was cost-effective to upgrade to xenons). Hopefully I wont need them with the newer xenons. I dont run them at all during the day, unlike many of the other people I see with their fogs on 24/7. I dont care how cool people think they are with them on, fogs during the day is like saying "I'm an ass hat."

Well, there you have it. Yet one more reason we 128i buyers are going to have the superior car.

I can't remember, are Adaptive Lights being offered? They could help as far as turning goes. I will say though that the beam pattern of the Xenons on the MINI throw some decent light on the right shoulder. Better than the Halogens in my A3 at least :iono:

From the UK spec option sheets.
Code 521 = Xenon
code 522 = Adaptive

In the US, Xenons include Adaptive lighting regardless if xenons are optional or standard.

I totally agree with you. Were starving over here..BMW or somebody throw us a bone. Next we'll start a thread on whether 128i/135i emblem should a little bit lower, or higher, or bigger...lol

yeah i'm really hoping we get some new nuggets of information coming out of the September auto show but I have a feeling the m3 might suck all the air out of that show for us :iono:

just give me a configurator with us specs and i could happily exist for months!

edit: with Europe getting the car before us at least we should expect some mag reviews soon. can't come soon enough!

Absolutely...this is like death march to Bataan.
And I don't mean to politicize the thread (no flames please) but it's like waiting has turned into a way of life in the U.S.
Wait to pull back the troops. Wait to get a new president. And wait for the 1er.
BMW should rescue us with some new pics. My 2 centavos.:frown::frown:

I'm with you on that. I'm also really sick & tired of that sedona red. we need some US (not euro) pics of the montego blue coupe. that would lift spirits for sure.
