hmm...freaking small car. what you guys think.

the 1er is only 171.8 in length. that is extremely tiny for a coupe. i think its one of the smallest coupes around. In the pictures it dont look that small but dam. the 350z is 169.8 in length, and its only a two seater. and its smaller than a civic si or a rsx s.

am i missing something or what. what is you guys's opinion about this. bmw coupe being this small doest seem right.

I'm 6'3"..

And I had plenty of room all the way around (head, shoulder and leg room). However, it does limit who can/could sit behind me.

I'm not concerned at all about space in the back seat.

I don't see myself riding in the backseat so it doesn't bother me at all. I couldn't care less how uncomfortable my friends are

Agreed.
I was actually worried that it would be too big, but smaller than my current car = good (not that I think an RSX-S is big).

The only rear seat room I need is for my child. Plus it can not be worse than a E30?

Also consider:

BMW 135i: (Length × Width × Height in) 171.7 × 68.8 × 55.4

Porsche Cayman S: (Length × Width × Height in) 172.1 × 70.9 × 51.4

Indeed, the 135i is a very small car. :roundel:

Also, for reference,

RSX-S: 172.2 X 67.9 X 54.7

So on second thought, it's not too much smaller than my car. :frown:

i can't understand people complaining about this car being too small. (not saying OP is necessarily complaining). i mean sheesh you have a 3, 5, 6 AND 7 to choose from if you feel that way. why complain?

it's basically the size of an E30 which is about damn near perfect for me.

I just found this and the width appears to be wider.

there's a diagram on the last scan of this thread
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=678

it appears to be 76 inches from mirror to mirror ... just depends on where you measure from. where did your E30 width start and end at?

If Jeremy Clarkson can fit in the hatch, then I doubt many people will complain about headroom:

Located it on line. I honestly do not know. I do have an E30 M3 brochure around. I will have to locate it with my M3 records.

I kinda like this car's size - wouldn't want it any bigger - the only thing that'll occupy the back seat is grandkids and cameras - and if either of them complain . . . ; -)

I think my Miata is plenty big enough - my ideal size car is a Lotus 7. I let the wife get the large saloon. I'll stick to the 'right-size' ones.

The size is exactly what most of us are looking for on here.

The E90/E92 is getting a bit too large for my personal taste. My current E46 is about as big as I'd want a coupe to be and the 135i is just a tad smaller in overall dimensions so it shouldn't be too much of a difference to switch over.
