Over MSRP?

so what are the chances that the 1er will go over sticker? maybe the 135i and not the 128i. any thoughts?

and if you have one ordered, like i do, can they charge you over sticker?

the dealer can charge anything they want over msrp thats a given but doubt that will happen on the 135...they might hold their prices to msrp without discounts though...

There will be dealers charging over MSRP on early cars. On the other hand, some people on this board speculate that the 1-Series will be discounted immediately.

I take the middle ground: we'll see it at MSRP for about a year, after which time modest discounts will become available. It's happened with almost every other "hot" car that's come out in recent years. No reason to think it won't happen with the 135i. :iono:

I don't think they're going to be any dealers charging over the MSRP, in the end, as I said it before, it' just a 1-series, and not an M3.

No offense, I do love the 135i though

Irv, please don't take this personally. I think that you're one of the good guys. But I suspect there will be some dealers that are more than willing to take a little extra dough to ensure that a latecoming customer gets one of the initial allotments.

none taken. I know that most of the people will pay a premium price, but in the end, it's up to the consumers if they wanna start a trend on paying xxxx amount over MSRP

I doubt any dealerships will charge over msrp. and i think people will be able to get 500-1000 under msrp within the 1st month or 2.

I know any reputable dealer wont but I almost guarantee they'll be some dealers that sell on eBay that are probably already thinking of auctioning off their first allotment spot on top of there inflated price

I have it on paper that they will not charge me over MSRP. If you're concerned, have it on paper during your down payment meeting with them.

It will be hard to get a good deal on the 135i, or 128i for that matter, for the first few months. But that is true of any first year, brand new BMW. Getting the car right at MSRP would be a nice deal.

I agree. Similar things happened in the past when the 335i coupe came out

ichiban, i hope you are right....i'm allergic to paying full msrp for any car......i may have to for the 135 i want though, which i am mentally preparing for.....my only saving grace is that my purchase date, around end of sept 08 is a full 6 months after launch....
