M340i (B58) Oil Temperature

Hey, recently I bought new m340i (LCI) with M Technology package (similar to ZTK package, bigger breaks and oil cooler).

In a normal every day driving oil temp reaches 108 celcius (226F), is it normal for this engine?

Few other questions:

1) What is the normal working oil temperature and what is the highest safe limit i can push it to?
2) What temperature oil has to reach before I can start pushing the car?
3) After the ride is finished should leave the engine turned on for a minute or two to let it cool?

Whilst I don’t have a b58 (I have a n63tu3), my oil temps are about the same as yours once warmed up so yes that sounds about normal to me

1) 108 is a normal temperature during easy driving. When pushing hard it would be cooler, around 102-104. This is what I see on my 340 as well.
2) I usually wait for "warm up" to disappear and then a few more minutes of relaxed driving. It's enough for temperature gauge to reach dead center on the scale. Usually it's around 3-4 minutes of relaxed driving for me.
3) I personally don't care. Car is smart enough to cool itself, you can notice sometimes it keeps flaps open for a few more mins and have fans active after you closed the car. These things are smart, I let it do the job for me.

Mine typically levels out at 232F. One thing to keep in mind with B58 is it actually is trying to retain heat to minimize hot/cold heat cycles. Unless you’re tracking the vehicle, I don’t think there is much concern in some spirited driving and letting onboard computers handle the cooling.
