For my 2020 m340, should I get bmw or carshield extended warranty? I plan on installing my AA downpipe and MST intake soon/bm3. Will it void all?

Carshield is 2000 a year but doesn’t cover the engine at all. But covers basically all other things. Excluding what bmw excludes but bmw covers the engine. Does this make sense?? From the bmw dealer-

Our coverage is exclusionary coverage. So, only the items listed below are what is not covered.

1. The maintenance services and parts described under Maintenance Requirements shown in the Vehicle Service Contract or in the Manufacturers Maintenance Schedule for your vehicle

Other normal maintenance services and parts including engine tune-up (includes spark plugs, glow plugs, ignition wires, distributor cap and rotor), carburetor, batteries (including but not limited to: hybrid batteries), filters, lubricants or fluids, all hoses and belts (not specifically listed), brake pads and shoes, brake rotors and drums, suspension alignment, constant velocity boots, tires, wheels, suspension air bags, exhaust system and catalytic converter.
3. Glass, glass framework and fastening adhesives, sealed beam head lamps, light bulbs, lenses, trim, moldings, bright metal, upholstery, paint, sheet metal, bumpers, alignment of body parts, door panels, body panels, structural framework and removable hardtop assemblies.
4. Aftermarket accessories or equipment, components and systems not installed by the manufacturer

There are some vendors (BMW Dealers) here who offer substantial discounts on extended warranties. It may be worth looking for them on the forums and reaching out and asking for a quote.

Look into Fidelity Platinum as well. It's an exclusionary warranty (good) and the company is well regarded. It's what Porsche guys use, but the cost is in line or often cheaper than other options.

Sometimes third party is better because you can take it to reputable independent mechanics.

This! I just purchased a +5 year 60K plan for my M340 and they are all I use for Porsche as well.

We have venders here on the forum as well as other places online.

I was around $4k for additional 5 years and for an additional 60K miles (I stated it incorrectly above) with a $250 deductible.

My car will be covered until 2028 or 85K miles whichever comes first.
