Dealer Experiences
Hey guys,
I think it would be a good idea to post up your dealer experiences here. I don't think this should only focus on the place you get the best price but, we should also consider the level of service of the whole dealerships. Let your experiences be known! |

I bought my Z4 in Aug 2002 at the BMW Experience Center in Whitby (beside the 401) and took it back there for any warranty work I needed as well as all the routine servicing.
Over the past 5+ years, I found everyone there to be highly professional and pleasant to deal with every time. There's no pressure at all on the sales side - it's like - if you're interested in one of our cars, we'll help you get one. On the service side they honour all their appointments and commitments - and it's done right the first time. When I decided I was going for the 128i Cabrio, there was no question but that I'd go back and give them the business. |

I bought mine at Brian Jessel BMW and the purchase process was very good so far. They made every attempt ot make it painless process so far. My father has bought 2 BMW's from them before and he has always had excellent things to say about them.

I also have had great experiences at Brian Jessel BMW in Vancouver. My dads bought 3 bmw's from them and their services are great. Very good environment and helpful service and sales reps.

Otto's BMW Centre in Ottawa consistently gets good reviews. They took good care of my father's 5 Series when he was in from Toronto and had a problem.
The SA that I've been dealing with at Otto's (Paul S.) has so far been forthcoming and really seems to know his product. He has provided info as it has become available, and I have been in regular contact about when the 1 Series demos will arrive. So, so far things are looking good with Otto's.

Well Jessel took my order well, and I liked that they had a good stock to be able to see the colours and options. Next phase ... wait 2-3 months, I wonder if I can learn to hibernate.

I ordered mine at Jessel as well and it has gone pretty well so far. We'll see once I actually get it.

Ordered mine from BMW Gallery in Calgary
Didn't give me the time of day until I got approved with the financing. Ordered the car and now am paying cash, and haven't heard a word from then since I put my deposit down. Went to Calgary BMW and the SA there was very helpful. Kept in contact with me even though I hadn't purchased the car yet. When I finally told him that I wasn't going to be purchasing the car (cause I got a better deal at Gallery) he really wanted to know why I had changed my mind about it and asked if there was anything that he could do to change that. I felt that he was very very helpful and I kick myself in the ass for not buying my car with him cause IMO he deserves the commission off the purchase of my car more than anyone at Gallery |

However, it does seem that BMW Canada is the main culprit here, the 0800 number is quite unhelpful, there is no tracking system like the US has, and so on, so that puts more work on the dealers, and their's no money in ringing us up once a week to tell us how our new baby is getting along. BMWCA ... please give us more info :iono:

I should add to my earlier comments about Brian Jessel BMW in Vancouver now that I have finished my purchase. They called the day my car arried at the dealership and made the appointment to pick it up. They called me the night before to make sure I was still coming, let me know I needed about 2 hours for the delivery etc and asked me if I had any questions. The car was ready and polished in th delivery bay for my appointment. The paperwork was all done and ready. They have it all set up. I went into the office to pay for the car. Lots of smiles and congratulations. Then they walk me next door and there was an insurance lady ready and waiting for me. Again after lots of congratulaitons insurance was done. Then my salesman took me to the BMW lifestyle store for a coffee and some free BMW stuff..nice touch. Then it was out to to my car with the license plates on and it was ready to go. I got a very thorough explanation of how everything works and I was done. Everyone was very nice, the proces was set up very well...no waiting! Evryone wsa ready and good to go!
I only had one complaint. My new car had a Brian Jessel BMW sticker on the trunk. I like the Brian Jessel license plate holders but the sticker was a piss off. The good news was I got it off with no problems. I should have thought of that and asked them to not put it on. All in all, my experience from purchase to delivery was excellent. |

vanbmw, thanks for info on your experience. Hopefully mine will be like yours. And, thanks for reminding me about the Jessel sticker. I'll make sure I email my CA about that just before it gets here.

I'll echo vanbmw statements. Jessel has been great to me.
I don't think that my CA and his assistant had ever met an enthusiast quite like me before let alone a 1 Addict (I broke them in for everyone else). I was a constant source of entertainment for them for 3.5 months. I'm sure they miss my constant contact and queries.

I got mine at The BMW Store on Burrard in Vancouver. The guys there are amazing as well. It's my 2nd BMW from them. My experience with their service department (esp Roberto) for my prevous BMW was also excellent. Hope their service department has not changed.

I was down at Jessel today, had a "couldn't wait" moment and had to go oogle some 1ers. I'm not sure if it helped or made worse. Talked to my CA, who unfortunately still hasn't got a build date ... but he assured me I am not being a pain yet ... they probably talk about us all over lunch, endless source of amusement no doubt !! Still, seeing a couple of Sedona's and some new 128's out the back brought a definite smile to my face.

What's the hold on the Van allocation? I'm out of the country right now - been away for the last few months. is VanCity filled with 1's yet or is that going to come as soon as the allocations come?

I see a lot of 128i cabs and 135i coupes. Haven't seen one 135i cab yet.
