Pics of Premium HiFi underseat subwoofers.

There is a sub under each seat. They do not put out huge booming bass, but they do sound good and tight.

I bought premium audio but I barely use it because I like to listen to the exhaust note more. I think there is something not right with me.

Well, thanks for showing me this.

Now I feel envy.

I didn't get premium hi-fi, thinking it wouldn't be that great.

Meh, I'll get BSW stuff later.

The quality and volume of the Premium Hi-Fi would only be an observation/opinion. What we need, is to have a comparison of the stock 10 speaker system which has the same size 10 speakers.
4-1.5" tweeters
4-4" mid/bass
8-8" subs

And compare it to the Premium Hi-Fi. Somebody has to use the same Clean sounding CD, (Such as Dire Straights "Brothers in Arms" CD) To compare the stock vs. Premium $875 system. You just can't turn the radio on to compare, unless they are side by side at the same time with the same station on.

I really want to know if its a big diff or not. If its only a little forget it.

What I would really like to know IS==Does the stock system SOUND as good or CLOSE to the system in MY 2007 CIVIC Si SYSTEM ??? CAUZ IT SOUND VERY GOODZ.

the 3 has a center speaker to create virtual surround. guess the 1 loses that ability...

Can anyone confirm that there are subs under the seats w/ non premium? It would be sweet if they at least had the enclosure so you could put a high output/quality 8" in there with a custom system.

I wonder if this relates to all the confusion over Logic 7. To "officially" be Logic 7 it requires the center speaker. So even though the 1 series Premium Hi-Fi says Logic 7 in the display it does not meet the tech specs (because of the lack of the center channel speaker) to be considered "official" Logic 7 in BMW's litature.

that would make sense, given that it is supposed to recreate a surround sound type experiance. Where would vocals be seperated to if not a center. It would need to distribute an off-phase sound reproduction out of the front two speakers. Even that would make the sound feel empty.

Weak... but its ok, i never use fake surround anyway, it always makes the music artificial.

give me a GOOD stereo system and im happy

imao bmw stock systems are pathetic, really bad. if you wanna use the system for anything else than traffic news you got to take the upgrade, or even slaughter your new car for aftermarket stuff.
