Dinan, Intake, CDV Replace

Those are what I have on tap next week. Today I finished putting on my Performance Pedals. They look amazing! In my opinion your car is not complete unless you get these! (Pics to come...I dropped my camera down the stairs and it wont turn on!)

I have a scheduled DINAN tune Monday morning at 8AM

Ordered my cdv valve and BMS intake and they should be here early next week.

Ill have some dyno and drag results as soon as I get out to it. Pics to come!

I am hoping for at least 390 HP from these mods alone. That should be good enough for a while

Let me know how you like the Dinan Flash.

I'm planning on it next month when rev. 2 comes out. Also, my dealer is still waiting for the patch cables.

Get some pics of the intake please

Cheers:drinking:

The 335 seems to just feel heavier (because it is). The throttle also seems a little more "jumpy" than the 135i (before DINAN flash).

On my way back I did a couple of WOT runs on the freeway. I definitely felt the increase in power. To be honest...I was just a little scared. As soon as I realized I was scared (which was about 2 seconds after downshifting into 3rd going 70 mph) I had hit a smooth 135 mph. Now, I dont speed like a maniac on freeways or race on surface streets, but this was just sheer acceleration like I have never felt before. Its hard to put it in perspective. How about this...if you live in Orange County we can go for a test drive! That is the only way to sum it up.

Now the great discussion on the DINAN flash that I have seen so far is the "loss of low end torque" or "lag on the acceleration".

Well, I have to confirm some of that and dismiss some of it too. Like everyone else stated you do need to push the accelerator pedal more. You do not lose any torque or low end power. Period. It may feel like a loss of power or turbo lag at first but i feel that is because you are used to 8.2 psi of boost spooling up...but it may just take the turbo an extra couple tenths of a second to reach 13.2 psi and that can be what people mistake as a "lag".

Regarding the pedal depression issue. I like it. I like the fact that I have more control over how much power I give my car. I dont want to go WOT when I press the pedal down 40%. If I wanted WOT then I would floor it (as do most of us). This is even more helpful since I drive a manual. Sometimes I would get a hickup because I gave the car too much gas and too little clutch or vice versa. Being able to control the throttle is amazing. For those that say "when I tap it I want to car to go (neck snap)". Well, my answer is why not just floor it and get the necksnap feeling but know that you have a full range of throttle to play with rather than only a small amount. Also, it helps save on gas at normal driving times...also keeps your from going fast because then you knowingly have to push the pedal down acknowledging the fact that you want to speed up. It puts the resposibility of speeding up not on just the fact that "the car has a life of its own or "it just goes" but on you...the driver. I hope this makes sense.

Please feel free to ask me questions on anything. I will be getting a DYNO as well as track times as soon as I can (dont hold your breathe too long!).

I frequently check these board (as in I am addicted..hmm..who though of that..1 addicts!??) so I will respond quickly.

Regards,

Ansun.

Take it to Irwindale this Thursday! I would love to see it on a 1/8 mile drag strip.

Let us know if you take it to any of the local drag strips

Congrats Ansun! Glad to hear you love it as much as I do! Probably a little more actually as I'm torn both directions with the throttle depression issue... but you're right that there is NO lag. cheers!

Im in only if its after 5pm. I am trying to find a good 1/4 mile drag strip here in OC and there is nothing remotely close. Its either north LA or SD. Each way is over an hour away.

Id love to meet up with anyone especially if youd like to do something on the weekends.

on a side note: I filled her up with 91 octane right after I picked it up from Crevier. The tank was on 1 mile left to empty when I filled it up so its is not diluted. I burned through almost a 1/4 tank through Id say 35 miles of driving. *evil laugh*
