Should I have done ED? PLEASE comment

Guys!

My car is scheduled for delivery May 31st, and it is an April production (haven't checked lately, he might have been born already).

I AM going to Europe for the last 2 weeks of June...

Should I have asked for ED to save cash and then ship it as soon as I get it over there? My trip would kill 2 of the 5 weeks of regular wait.. the down side would be to not have a car for 3 weeks after I come back...
but I could save on the cash...

could I still do it, even?

Please comment... ALL along I thought YOU had to pay for shipping the car back from Europe!!! I'm such an idiot!

You pay 6.1% duty on the car if you do ED, this is why its cheaper.

I see. Plus it would have to sit in europe for 2.5 months, and I'd have to wait for an extra 2.5-3 months... AFTER having driven MY car...
that alone is worth paying for hahaha thanks for the reply. I'll just stop daydreaming.

How does ED in Canada work? In the States they get 50% of Lufthansa, 14-day insurance, all paperwork done, no tax reduction or savings or w/e, and $2000-$2500 off on a 1-series.

I wanted to do Euro deliverey as well, but was told by both dealers in Edmonton that Canadian ED is on hold until 2nd or 3rd quarter this year, as they are revamping the program. I was pissed, as I had been planning to do it for a couple of years. Oh well, I guess I will just have to go anyway for vacation.

Where are you planning to go in June? I've been over there 3 times now, and am thinking of going again this summer.

Im going to france for 5 days, then spain for 5, then italy for 5. all during the last 2 weeks of june.

and yeah, i will get a vacation regardless...

Sounds like my last trip. In September, I flew into Rome and two weeks later I flew out of Madrid.

Had I done ED, It would have been end of may early june. I would have picked up in Munich, headed south to do the ducati and ferrari tours, then over to Nice to watch the monaco GP, then north through the alps, eventually heading towards the nurburgring.
