How long from Halifax port to AB?
My car arrived mid last week in halifax and the dealer is telling me that it will be in AB May 15th. This seems like a very long train ride....what are some of the other experiences out there?

In Halifax on March 22nd. - at the dealer April 10th - about 3 weeks. I think your dealer is being conservative. But - trains are trains. I'd suggest yours would be in AB by the end of April.

Mine arrived in Halifax on March 22. And I'm still waiting. Expecting for the late this week/early next week.
As far as for AB goes, the Edmonton guys receive their cars first because the cars are shipped CN, and CN goes through edmonton (CP goes through Calgary).

Hopefully it won't take till mid May, I was hoping for my car at the end of April/first week of May. Does anyone know which railway is used for Vancouver?

Wow... thats a while. Any day now I guess... Mine is currently sitting in the CP Rail Ogden railyard here in Calgary sharing a rail container with a Sparking Graphite 135i and some Audis. It'll be out of the yard tomorrow and by the time it gets to the dealership and its PDI'd it'll be early next week. So March 22 to about April 21. I'll take my foot out of my mouth now though, they ship by both CN and CP depending on the destination city.

We don't have an online tracking system like in the U.S. but you can get updates from BMW Customer Service @ 800 567-2691. Their info is not as up to date as what your CA can provide though so you could just call your CA. Once your car has been built, go to the WW site and plug your VIN in every day until you find out what ship you are on. http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/cargoTrack.do

As for how I know mine was sitting in the Alyth rail yard on on Saturday night, and how I know its sitting in the Ogden yard right now with a couple audis and a SGM 135 in front of it in a rail car near the end of the train.... you gotta have people on the inside for that level of detail.

10 days to cross the pond, plus at least 2 weeks to cross this beautiful country.
that puts me at the first or second week of may. I'll wait until he's on a ship to call my dealer and ask for an update on delivery Talking to bmw owners, apparently they usually deliver right on the day they say they will... call it a german thing

Ok, my car has just been discharged off the Fedora in Halifax so I will give it a few days then call Searail. Has anyone had any success with calling them?

I can't wait either. My SA said on Monday my car is in Halifax and should get it in 2 to 3 weeks. I really hope he is just being conservative. I want my baby now...

18 days to vancouver eh? that would put my car in redmonton by, say, May 19th. That's a whopping 12 days before the initial estimated delivery date. Note how I haven't complained.
