BMW G30 losing refrigerant fluid
Just got a 2021 G30 90.000km plug in hybrid from Sweden. In the auction it said that it had problems with the AC (boy i wish i never bought it).
After going to an AC specialist he said it loses pressure in the AC system and he cannot identify the exact location. He recommended a pressure test to see exactly where it is. After the pressure test the engineer said it s losing through the dashboard ( vaporizer unit needs changing). He used a leak stop in hope it will seal the leak but unfortunately it lost all the refrigerant fluid after 2 days so i m back where i started. I noticed when i was driving that the electric battery stopped working (electric drive limited) and i had an overheating symbol on the spot where the range is (it s because the refrigerant also cools the electric battery so they overheat and the car shuts down the "hybrid" part of it) Anyone else had problems with the vaporizer ? The operation of replacing it is very difficult and expensive (around 2000$) at my local shop. I don't even want to know the price for the repair at the dealership probably twice as much.... |

It's almost certainly the evaporator (under the dash)
