Hello,

Just curious if this rattly sounding noise is normal for 2021 M550i. It happens for the first second and then goes away. Only occurs if it’s a cold start. Not audible inside, only when remote starting and it’s been this way since I bought it (Certified pre owned).

Yes, it is normal. I have a 21 m550 and it does the exact same rattle with remote start since day 1.

Wastegate rattle, annoying as hell and cannot believe it is normal behavior. I have the same issue.

Did you ever discover a fix for this?

Can’t seem to find anything for it and I’ve read it’s normal but I’m coming from an S4 that also had a “normal” rattle on start and it takes away from how good the car sounds on a cold start.

Can’t escape the rattle apparently.
