really easy. Someone did it on here and has a DIY already. Do a search. If u can't find it with search, then look at larryn's old posts, he's the one that posted the DIY i think.

Instructions for daytime running lights is in your owner's manual. Put on some latex gloves so you don't cut up your hands, the latex gloves will be torn up when you're done. Start on the driver side because it's easier. The passenger side is a bitch but I have small hands so I didn't even need to take off the cover to squeeze in there. Good luck.

The ears on the covers are the hardest to deal with on the passenger side. Just jiggle them in, don't force anything too hard and make sure those bitch clips don't break off. I would not like to try and find those in the engine bay.

No step by step needed. There's two spring clips on the back side of each headlight housing. Just pop those over to the side and take the cover off the back of the headlight. As mentioned, there's two plastic ears at the bottom of that cover that you need to take into account. The bulbs are obvious, and are removed by an 1/8 turn. Don't touch the lamps and unplug it, replace with the new bulb, and put it back together.
It's all pretty obvious, and the owner's manual does have instructions on how to change it too, as mentioned. |

Quote:
1. CAREFULLY slide off the 'Bitch' clips on each side of the headlight housing. 2. Wiggle the HL housing off - this is a bit of a pain 3. Twist the H3 bulb to unlock, and gently pull out 4. Use a small flat-head scredriver to gently remove the little gray clips on each side of the bulb; remove bulb 5. Carefully plug new bulb in. 6. Insert new bulb into housing, and twist to lock in place. - One side was a PITA to get it to lock - Make sure it's properly sealed 7. Reinstall HL covers - Make sure that the tabs are inserted in the holes at the bottom for a proper seal - This is also a PITA! Overall it's really easy, it's just a pain to wiggle the covers into place. Good luck! |

Just curious if anyone has replaced the h3 bulbs yet. I tried removing the top cover from the light housing as instructed in the owners manual, but ended up breaking the clip and still can't get the cover off. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
For clarification, the response written above this is applicable for the h8 bulbs unless I totally missed seeing the h3 bulb slot and the owners manual is written incorrectly. |

Are you talking about the halo rings or interior LED? I'm ready to order some.

If you break the cornering light covers, guess what you can't buy new ones as BMW doesn't list them. Don't ask me how I know, and someone prove me wrong, Please!!
