G30 Coding List???

Hey yall! Recently picked up my first bimmer, a ‘21 M550, and have no real experience tuning/coding vehicles. I’ve began taking an interest in coding some options as I think it’s a good starting point in building my car and it only adds to the personalization of the vehicle. That being said, I’m unable to find a definitive list of options that can be coded onto G30’s. It’s my understanding that BimmerCode can only access so much and applications like Esys or ProTool are needed to code more advanced features like Anti- Dazzle for the front headlights. I’ve compiled a list of desirable features I believe possible to be coded onto the G30. Anyone that is better read on the subject, please correct me if any of these aren’t possible. Am I better off hiring someone to remotely code these options?

Anti Dazzle Headlights

Active Sound Design Off

Enable Auto Stop Start Memory

Add Pink / Purple Ambient Lighting Option under bronze

Brake Force Display on hard braking

Disable Honking When Locking car with engine running

Enable Video in Motion

Enable Video Playback from USB

Enable Welcome Light in Darkness???? (Idk what this is just saw it on a list)

Disable Top Speed Restriction for Cameras

Disable Angel Eye Dimming (does this work on LCI?)

Close Trunk From Key & Interior Buttons and enable One touch close from interior buttons

Disable Window Safety( Enable Auto Opening/Closing while door is open.)

Enable Ability to Add new Devices (phone/tablet) while Driving

Turn on zoom feature for rear view camera

Disable Legal Disclaimers

Enable Tire Temperarure / Pressure Reading in Drive menu.

Enable Comfort+ and eco pro plus

Enable DRL on/off Switch

Brighter Headlights ???

Rolls Royce Chimes and Parking Alert

M Performance Dials up to 200 Mph

Apple Audio Enhancement ???

Changing Multicolor Ambient Lighting (not sure if this is possible through coding alone but saw it on a video) (

Disable Having to have hands on wheel for driving assistance

Disable Amber Front Side Markers

M logo on startup

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Do your research, no one will spoonfeed you especially on such a long list. you can find every single thing you asked about if u spend a few minutes searching.

I have mine '22 540i defaulting to sport mode for both myself and wife. That also defaults ASS to off. I have the seat belts alerts muted for the front seats -- rears are not an option. I have the headlight washers disabled. I have the five-blink lane change enabled for the turn signals; I don't recall if I can enable that without coding, as is required in my older BMWs. Those are the ones I remember that I do not see in your list.

With the exception of Anti-dazzle/VLD, most of this can be coded with Bimmercode and ProTool. If you want AD/VLD done right, hire a pro. There are updawards for 30 entries to make to get it right. Bimmercode can get you partially there on AD, but not VLD.

I believe on an LCI where you don't have the physical button below the start button to shut it off, you can't code it off or remember last setting. Most people code it to start in sport to avoid ASS.

I've coded most of what you are looking for myself with Bimmercode. I used Protool for the custom ambient light colors.

Your line items with question marks are do-able, I think. Even if Brighter Headlights were code-able, be careful, the DRL's already are prone to failure from heat.

I was quickly discouraged from attempting to code AD/VLD on my own after a few minutes of reading up on the forums. Like I said, I have zero experience in coding so that’s completely out of my realm.

That being said, I’ve decided to just stick to the basic version of BimmerCode for most of the beginner options. I’ll leave more challenging jobs for the pros to sort out. Are you aware of anyone who does remote coding for things like this on these forums?

I’m lucky enough to at least have a button to disable Auto Stop/Start so I truly hope I’ll be able to kill it entirely through BimmerCode.

Brighter Headlights was definitely one of the ones I was more skeptical about. Had no idea about DRL’s overheating but if that’s the case I have no interest in testing their heat threshold for a slight appearance difference.

Thank you for such a helpful response. 👍🏼 I appreciate it more than you know.

Defaulting to sport seems to be the common work-around but I actually do enjoy cruising around town in comfort every once in awhile. If I’m unable to code ASS off entirely this will be my solution.

Seat Belt chime is a great one that slipped my mind and will definitely be added to the list.

No headlight washers on mine so I should be good there 👍🏼

I was able to enable 5 Blink lane change within idrive by default aswell. 3 blinks just isn’t enough.

I have heard great things about codemybimmer and I know people that have used them and have been happy. You can knock off 80% of your list with BimmerCode in basic mode, so give that a shot. In terms of recommendations for AD/VLD, there is some who is supposed to be really good at coding it on these forums, but he’s extremely unreliable. Codemybimmer can do it and anything else you are not comfortable with.

Codemybimmer is perfect and had pretty much every option I was looking for. Already purchased but now have to fetch a windows laptop from one of my buddies. Will post the checklist + any additional options I can think of. Not sure if it’s already been posted on these forums but it never hurts to spread the word a second time. Thanks again for all your help!

Coding VLD/Anti Dazzle requires something like 150 FDL changes. I would make sure whatever 'coder' you're using understands this. Makes 5 changes to the VO is not the proper way to enable these features, lol.

I also find it wild that I can easily find complete instructions for VLD/AD for the F30, or G05 but apparently there's nothing out there for the G30.

Spot on. There are so many parameters that need to be coded to get full functionality. It still amazes me how my coded lights work in the dark, turning, spitting, rising independently. Crazy technology that wasn't allowed in the US until a year or so ago.

Officially allows in 2018, but it took a long time to get manufacturers to enable it here.

I didn't think it was that long ago (2018), seems like I read about it only a few years ago.

I still think dealers won't do it, more from lack of knowledge. I love my dealer, but I can only imagine the conversation on asking them to enable ALD/VLD, it would be Chinese to them.

I doubt they'll ever enable it as a retrofit. They'll only offer it enabled from the factory in new models.

I can't seem to code the auto start stop button, did it in Binmercode but the car won't take it. I don't want to stay in Sport either. Are there any other ways?

What year do you have and do you have the physical button below the ASS button to manually turn it off? If you don’t have that button, the only way to code it out is to start in sport mode. If you have it and coded it to remember last setting, you have to turn it off manually after coding to have it remember that.

It's a 21 and I have the button. I coded the memory part and turned it off but next time I started the car the light was off, so I went and coded to disable the function. When I drove the car again I still had to press the button manually to disable. Should I just go back and code the memory part and check that way? Had no issues with this on my F10.

You mean you are trying to disable it vs remember last setting? Yes, code remember last setting (same thing once you hit the button). I remember reading what you are doing doesn’t work.

I currently have both options coded (memory and disable). I'll go back to just code the memory and report back. Thank you!

Any update on this? Steve from CodeMyBimmer told me enabling Auto Stop/Start memory is not possible on newer firmware but I have the button to disable as well. This was one of my main things I wanted to code my vehicle for and it’d be a real bummer to find out it isn’t possible.

I had heard somewhere that over-the-air updates have been inhibiting our ability to code changes, particularly regarding ASS. Therefore, I have disabled OTA updates. I am still defaulting to Sport mode at start up. That is fine for me, but other people still want ASS disabled when they use comfort and I often wonder what new features I am missing.
