External mirror auto-dip in reverse?

For those of you that already have delivery of your 1 series convertibles...can you tell me if the passenger side external mirror auto-dips when you put the car in reverse?

I don't recall seeing it as an option when I configured mine...

Is it standard?:iono:

Ok..If you have the side mirror adjustment selector pushed towards the drivers side mirror the passenger side mirror will dip in reverse..

This is unusual cause on my 05/330Ci it is the opposite..

So, yes it does dip..

That's actually a very good feature IMHO it's something I do manually everytime I reverse to park my cars, to make sure I never scratch or damage my wheels

Great to see this Beemers got it as standard

There seems to be the internal\external anti dazzle option available... are you guys saying there is in fact a separate auto dipping package of some description.

1.Fold In Function.
2.Memory Function on Personal profile.
3.Automatic parking function.(whatever that is )

I think the Auto parking function is the auto-dipping when selecting reverse.

I have the mirror package, it dimms the side mirrors at night if car lights are behind same and rear view, also you can hit a button and the mirrors fold up or you can set it so the fold up when you turn off the car and automatically fold down when you drive away. The fold up very tight, the panel of the door sits out further when they are folded. The auto dip for reverse parking is standard on the car as is.

Yeah! That sounds like the ticket!!
Question: If I look at the BMW Aus site...and "Build My Car"...it launches the Configurator...and you can drill thru the options to add....I cant see it....

Jeez...dont tell me its only available on the 125i + 135i????

Sweet indeed!
I was thinking of last minute options I could throw at it...and I remember the 330ci coupe I was loaned by someone has this & thought it was excellent. No scrubbing the alloys on gutters & the like. The VW Eos offers it as standard too.

The auto parking function is when the mirrors fold away when you park the car. They open out again when you drive away. You can override this function if you wish.

Zuzu,
can I ask you a question... I see you have optioned up Comfort Access on your car.
Are you pleased with it? Would you have it installed if you had the opportunity to again?

Is it really that good?

100%..Just love it.
Gives true sense to keyless entry and driving.
You are allways aware that you are locking/unlocking car as you have to touch the sensor pad on the door handle,so the visual is always there.
Key never leaves my pocket.. No dangling keys hanging on the dash..
Makes more sense and reality of the push button start.
Best of all on the vert you can open and close the roof remotely.

Only ONE negative to date...
When you wash or dry the car you have to make sure the key/fob is not in your pocket...The doors continually lock and unlock as you pass by the door handles..

ok, nice advice. Cheers.
You know how you said you can open the roof remotely.....Even if I didn't have CA...can I still open the roof by pressing 1 of the keys on the remote buttons at the vehicle?

Na..You need CA to open and close the roof remotely whilst not in the vehicle. Otherwise the open/close buttons on the dash control.

Was about $500 or less? I also got comfort access, well worth the money. My wife has a lexus with keyless entry and after using that it was an easy decision. I am sure it will soon be standard on BMW's as it is with Lexus.

+1 for the comfort access. It's the bees knees.

Makes using keys for all the other day to day stuff a pain.
