Acceleration distance 0 to 100 kmh for the 120i auto

Can anyone please inform me what distance a BMW 120i (auto) might take to go from a standing start (0 km/hr) to 100 km/hr? Assuming the car reached 100 km/hr in 11.2 seconds.

We are trying to dispute a police speed camera reading that seems quite inaccurate. Any statistics on the acceleration characteristics (speed versus distance covered) of the 120 i auto that anyone may have would be really helpful.

distance = 1/2 (change in velocity) * time
where 100 kph= 27.7 m/s

~155.12m

A bit of free and unsolicited advice. You need to find someone who the court will recognise as an expert on BMWs to testify for you. The courts can be very unforgiving when the defendant tries to introduce evidence themselves.
If it's anything like vic, attack things like calibrations and such.
If you haven't already, seek professional legal opinion.. it's pretty well a must.

Thanks - you're right. It is also hard to get anything definitive from BMW. I thought they would have had a plethora of information - down to a "T". But no such luck.

We will have to get some mathematical modelling done, independently.
