Oil nut crusher ring.
Can someone explain why the crusher ring on the oil nut need to replaced every oil change?

The name explains it - it's crushed in the process of tightening - once crushed it has to be tossed - can't be re-used.

Thanks for the information. Changed my oil today and didn't want to toss away the old ring because it looked much better than the copper replacement.

Except copper works better as a crush washer.... :smile:
