Installed the M performance Muffler on my car today along with quad exhaust tips. Being a non sport car I was doing a lot of mental gymnastics and read up on the potential fitment and look of going forward with the install. The stars aligned today and made the call.
Love the exhaust note it produces, super clean, rich and deep in my opinion (with or without burbles), exactly how I would have wanted it. Did not have to make any changes to the diffuser. Attaching some pics and videos to share the look and feel of it, though the videos do not represent the actual note even remotely. Hope this helps folks with Non m-sport models. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSzVNAW0nhg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UgH4ZvZih1Q https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yjvUaF1yR1k

Nice job, looks clean and sounds tasteful yet aggressive.
I am stumped though. Non sports don't technically have a diffuser, it's all one big bumper cover. How did you do this? I don't see and demel marking?

Honestly it started with just installing the muffler (from marketplace) and replacing the old f30 style circular tips with my car's stock muffler trapezoidal tips in hopes that they would fit the non m-sport bumper. After we cut the tips on both the mufflers, we realized that the valve controller need to be removed from stock tips as they were too long out to be installed as such, hence we went with the quad exhaust tips available at the time. All in all, a satisfactory turn of events.

No, I am running MHD stage 2.
Have multimap slots setup with no burbles to soft/medium burbles.

Nice work! The tips stick out a bit far for my personal taste, but us non M-sports have to take what we can get. It sounds great. Were the tips generic ones from the shop that did your install?
I've been tempted to have the MPE cut-outs installed, but what's holding me back is having to cut out the valve. It seems like keeping the valve and having the quads look somewhat OEM+ is a difficult task on the factory muffler, unless you get a very skilled fabricator to do it. Might just have to order some MPE tips. Or maybe buy yours lol. Although I don't really like the idea of having MPE tips without actually having the MPE itself. Plus, it wouldn't be quad tips, but at least it wouldn't be budget SUV vacuum suckers... |

I got the M performance muffler on fb marketplace with the old circular tips (discarded the circular tips) The quad tips were a last min necessary hack as I initially wanted to slap my OEM muffler tips onto the m performance muffler (also keep the OEM valves as a plus). I was leaning for the stock look as I was targeting sleeper vibes with a 530i debadge ![]() But due to the placement of the tips joint onto the muffler, the OEM tips would have stuck out abnormally or I would have to "mutilate" the OEM tips further to force it to fit. This was realized while trying to weld the OEM tips onto the M performance muffler. Quad tips to the rescue. Kudos to the shop for making it work and a clean job.

I'm so torn. I really dislike the budget SUV trapezoids and would love some quads, but I do want my tips sticking out a bit less than yours do to keep the OEM+ look. It seems the only way to achieve this is with some major modifications to the muffler. Then there's the tips themselves - my car has so much chrome already (pre-lci luxury line), I'd really love some brushed tips, but shops usually don't carry those. Or do I just buy a used M sport rear...better looking bumper without the chrome strip and easier to fit quads...decisions decisions... |

You are right as I initially also assumed the muffler is from an F30 for the same reasons, but the shop owner/seller suggested that the MPE also came off a 540i. Since the rest of the installation fitment was spot on, I didn't think otherwise. Honestly for $500 it was a steal deal for the time ![]() I think the tips on my car could have been placed further in. I wasn't too particular about it when asked during fitment. Also, I think it's our non m-sport bumper that makes the tips look a bit of place, it being so simple in its looks. I was searching for a long time for used m sport bumpers+diffuser on zen market, but couldn't make sense of it money wise. Next up for me is wheels and brakes upgrade. Scouting for good deals on those.

When did the G30 MPE come with oval tips? All the OEM exhaust I seen (and the one I had) all came with the hex tips (either chrome or carbon).
