Custom ambient lighting colours with Bimmercode
Popped over to a mate who has Bimmercode, and changed the colours of the ambient lighting! By default, the colours are pretty limited and several I don’t use. You can’t update the text on the idrive settings but can change the colour values for the light strips and downlighting.
In bimmercode easy mode it’s super straight forward, the list of light options is presented and each has two colours shown - you change the colours from a pallet for each mode and hit code. In expert mode I understand you can choose from a wider array of colours with custom values. Pretty pleased with the results ! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hi, it's been some time since I played with the colors in BimmerCode, but when I did, the easy mode was able to change only the Bronze color (and there were only few colors to chose from), all the rest had to be changed via Expert mode, using RGB hex values.
Has anything changed, have they maybe updated the app? Also, could you please tell me how did you manage to take such beautiful photos? Was that with phone or with a camera? Any settigs you used that you could share? Thank you |

Yes seems to have been updated. For the pics, I sat on the back seat and used my iPhone 15 Pro Max - tried to keep it at the same position for each picture. At night, it will automatically do a long exposure and compensate for small hand movements, just have to let it do its thing and keep as still as possible. I think I used the 0.5 zoom lens for the wide shot and 1.0 zoom lens for the door shot. If you're unfamiliar with long exposure, it just keeps the lens open for longer so absorbs more light on the sensor hence the colours come out really nicely. It's also why the screens come out a bit too bright, can't have it all. |
