How did you mount your Front Plate?

Howdy folks I haven't mounted my front plate yet and REALLY don't want to hide the front of my car. The mount I received from the dealer has hooks on one side to hook to my car and holes for screws on the other. I really don't want to screw the plates to my car especially since I'm only going to be living in CT for another year.

Soooo I was wondering how people were mounting their front plates if at all?

I really don't know anything about the fix it tickets they give in the area so I was thinking of the best way to do it minus screwing holes into the front bumper.

Thanks fellas,
Liam

I used one of the no holes kits from GoMiniGo.com. Not the most attractive but not all that bad. It's a clean installation and it avoids drilling holes.

I happened to be at the dealer the other day and ran into a guy who had just driven there immediately after having received an $80 ticket for not having a front plate on his 3 Series. No warning, no fix-it ticket, just a straight ticket for a violation (NY state).

He was in there complaining and going on about how he didn't want to drill the holes. When he saw the kit on my car he started going off on the dealer saying they should be selling that kit.

Here's another option , originally from lib http://www.skenedesign.com/FPBracket/plate.htm

Dont put your plate in the dash, it will cut somebody's nose.

I didn't :-D

In my area, as long as you have the plate in the car, the police are usually ok.

lol i didnt mount mine on, but like it was all good until the end of the month when the cops have to meet their quota and I was in Montclair and these cops pulled me over for no reason, they were checking out my car, like literally the cop didnt even give me eye contact when he was talking to me and was like staring at my cars sexy ass body. So he pulled me over for no reason didnt even know I was missing a front plate until his partner came and walked infront of my car and noticed I didnt have one on and ticketed me for it. I was so mad i got pulled over because (knock on wood) I havnt been pulled over for a good 3 years now (When i had my evo all my windows including my front windshield were tinted 35%) . I personally dont have the liscense plate on,and because I was so mad that I got the ticket I did some research on it. **TECHNICALLY by law in NJ you must have a front license plate and a rear license plat. It states that the rear license plate should be visible from 50 feet away but it doesnt specify anything about the front plate. Also it doesnt specify where on the front of the car or the rear of the car the plate is suppose to go. (basically you can have your rear liscense plate taped to your rear window and it wouldnt be obstruction of window or any of that nonsense). But yeah to get to my point as long as you keep the plate inside your car infront by the windshield and its clear and can be read from up close, your not breaking any law. Plus, 99.9% of police pull overs are from the rear, so theres that 0.01% that you will get pulled over for it.

I'm getting my front numberplate custom made as a sticker. Apparently very durable, easy to clean and can be removed without marking the paint.

I'll post a photo once it's been done.

I have the SkeneDesign as well. I didn't think the plastic bumpers were enough. I picked up larger ones and applied rubber backing to the sharp edges of the plate protect the bumper. I'm considering a slim line frame.
