broke white retainer clip on coil pack connector
on my b58 i had a misfire issue and was taking coil packs in and out and accidentally broke a few of the white tabs or retainer clip on the connectors to the coil pack. i’ll leave a photo of the white clip im talking about. are these necessary?

n-hampt4 i have to replace the whole connector? just for the lock. is this like super important or for peace of mind, is that usual for the coil packs to slip off even without the locking clips

I wouldnt worry about it. They can get old and brittle - I may have damaged one of mine as well but that was 60k miles ago and it’s running just fine.
If the connector backed off, you’d get a misfire and code, then you’d have to deal with it but that is highly unlikely in my opinion. The lock is a nice to have but not essential in my opinion, in this specific use case. Last edited by aerof16; 03-17-2025 at 05:24 PM.. |
