Active Grill Delete, Can I Do It Without Cutting the Flaps? Coding Possible?

Hey everyone,
I’m looking to do an active grill delete on my BMW but would prefer not to physically cut or remove the flaps if possible. Can it be coded in bimmercode or any other apps?

Trying to keep it reversible and clean, so any insight or guidance from those who have done this would be greatly appreciated.

There's a reason the engineers put them there in the first place.

They aren't there for cosmetic reasons, they serve a function. So you don't want to cut them out (plenty of YT videos on that) or remove the flaps, you just want them to stay open all the time?

I suppose you could pull the plug when they are open, but you're going to have a CEL that can't be coded out.

Hello.
Not possible via BimmerCode. What is possible, is to disconnect the plug from the motor that rotates the flaps, while they’re in the open position. But this will give you a check engine light. This has to be coded out/deleted by someone, with a pc, who knows what they’re doing.
So yes, its possible, but as the previous commenters said, not recommended.

I recall you can set it via MHD if you are going to flash a tune. BUT it is better to have active grill so the car can warm up faster.

BTW, it is also advantages to have active grill so the engine will stay warm longer and prolong the life of plastic fittings of your cooling system. BMW cars have plastic fittings in their cooling system, and they degrade faster with more heating up and cooling down cycles.
