LCI Instrument Display Separation

Noticed some weird separation at the bottom of my instrument cluster display earlier, looks like it’s beneath the surface. Easiest to see with the sun shining through the rear window.

Anyone else experience this? I’m assuming it’s a defect and BMW will replace the screen under warranty. 2023 M550i with ~28,000 miles.

I tried to get this warrantied but failed, so I gave up since it's not a big issue and is not really visible unless the sun is shining at it at a very specific angle.

One thing I hate about BMW is that it gets challenging to get things warrantied with them for some reason. Toyota barely asks questions when you have issues with them. Heck I got a tire warrantied with Toyota. Find me a story where a BMW owner got a tire warrantied with BMW because I bet you can't.

I would take it to get it replaced. The only way for BMW to know they have defective parts in such new cars is for people to complain.

It may be a minor thing or it could keep spreading and stain or damage the LCD eventually. I wouldn't risk it.
